In-Store Event: Vancouver Humane Society Fundraiser and Prizes at W 10 Location
When: 17-Oct-2015
We're excited to host the Vancouver Humane Society (VHS) at our West 10th location for an in-store fundraising event for the McVitie Fund. While you're noshing on free popcorn, speak to a representative
from VHS or check out our guess jars and prize raffles. Let the kids know that there will be free balloon animals too.
About the Vancouver Humane Society
The Vancouver Humane Society is a registered charity (Charitable Business Number: 889713178RR0001) dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. Since 1984, they have been encouraging individuals, organizations, and governments to take responsibility for the welfare and rights of domestic animals and wildlife influenced by human activities. Funding comes primarily from donations, and many of their activities are made possible through the generous assistance of volunteers.
About the McVitie Fund for Sick & Injured Animals
The McVitie Fund is named in memory of a little ginger cat named McVitie, who was rescued in Portugal and brought back to Canada by a VHS supporter. McVitie lived a long and happy life, but when he became ill, his guardian did everything he could to save him. After McVitie passed, his guardian wanted to help other people who find themselves without the resources to help their beloved pets.
The McVitie Fund has once again received a tremendous boost from a very generous anonymous donor in the form of a $20,000 Challenge Grant.
This means that starting right now, every donation you give to the McVitie fund will be doubled, up to $20,000! There are always animals that need
help, so VHS is extremely grateful to this donor and to you for enabling them to say “Yes, VHS can help!” when they get those inevitable and often
heartbreaking calls.
