Archer Update #1
Archer's progress in socialization and training to become a Canadian Guide Dog for the Blind.
Archer is now 10 months old! He is doing well, is strong, healthy and weighs about 66lbs.
Here is a picture of Archer taken November 3, 2017 during the first month he stayed with his training family.
He is a very friendly dog and does well when socializing with other dogs and humans. He is now no longer jumping up on people when he meets them. Archer likes to sleep on his back at home to let the air help keep him cool as he has a nice thick coat of fur. He loves to check out new smells and is absolutely fascinated with dirty laundry if he can get at it. He has also developed a dislike of the large human exercise balls and appears to be scared of them.
We had the honor of Archer and his trainer visiting our stores during the Santa Pictures this December.

What is he working on for his training?
Well when out walking he still tries to pull a little bit, but he has made large improvements there. Archer has almost mastered the art of staying consistently to left side of his partner and no longer tries to always walk across back and forth in front of his walking partner.
He is starting to get the hang of commands and has been working with some whistling as well as verbal commands with his trainer.
Archer is also just starting his training on the proper bathroom routines required for working dogs.
